Growing domestic and international travel, driven by increasing tourism, business activity and rising incomes, has resulted in a robust domestic Chinese commercial aviation industry. Between 1990 and 2020 the number of civil aircraft in China ballooned from 503 to 6,795 in order to meet the growing Chinese demand for air travel.
